Chuka University will open two more campuses in the county as a means to boost education and research.
Vice Chancellor Erastus Njoka said arrangements and logistics had been concluded in order to open Kairini and Chogoria campuses in Chuka/Igambang'ombe and Maara constituencies, respectively.
This comes after unveiling the Gatunga campus in Tharaka constituency. "We want to make tertiary education accessible and affordable to all young men and women of this region through establishing campuses at the grassroots in order to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor," said Mr Njoka.
The VC noted that already a 500-acre parcel had been bought at Kairini to enable students carry out agriculture and livestock research.
The campus will be used as a demonstration centre for effective agriculture and animal keeping.
