Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) has opened a branch in Kilifi and is set to establish another in Malindi as it dismissed claims that it is controlled by cartels bent to subvert war on corruption.
EACC Deputy CEO Michael Mubea, opened the Kilifi branch on Thursday as part of week-long activities in the county. He announced that the commission will publish a survey of corruption trends and prevalence in the 47 counties in November.
"EACC has launched a research programme to get proper data on corruption claims from members of the public. The report will be made public by November," he said.
Mubea denied claims by politicians that EACC is not in charge.
Kilifi deputy governor Kennedy Kamto hailed the roll out of the anti-corruption drive at the grassroots saying war on corruption requires public support.
