Suspected Al –Shabaab militia lobbed a grenade at a hotel in Mandera town on Thursday evening injuring five people.
Mandera County Commissioner Alex Nkoyo while confirming the 8pm incident, said at least two people were seriously injured in the attack.
“The two were injured by shrapnel on their right legs. Police who were on patrol and Good Samaritans, rushed the victims to hospital,” he said.
Mr Nkoyo said the two were admitted to Blue Light Hospital in Mandera town before they were airlifted to Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi for specialised treatment.
