Nairobi, Kenya: Relegated side Nairobi City Stars are ready for any tier of the league even as it appears they may be playing in the Kenya Premier League (KPL)  season 2015. This comes in the wake of reports that KPL may after all decide to reinstate Nairobi City Stars and Nakuru All Stars back to the league after having cast aspersions on the manner in which Shabana FC was promoted to the league.

Nairobi City Stars Chairman Peter Jabuya is all smiles, calm, cool and collected as a cucumber. “My team is ready to play anyone anywhere at any level.”  Said Jabuya.

The Kawangware based club has perennially fought off relegation always battling and surviving on the last day of the season. However, 2014 they met their waterloo when they reached their elastic limit and were relegated from the top tier. But as fate would have it, Jabuya’s club is the proverbial cat that has nine lives. They seem to be the beneficiary of the wrangles involving football bodies in the country at the moment.

KPL wishes to have the two clubs – Nairobi City Stars and Nakuru All Stars – reinstated to the league will however depend on Football Kenya Federation failing to beat the KPL deadline of February 9th to confirm if it (the federation) recognizes KPL  as the owner and manager of Kenyan Premier League.

Whatever the case, Peter Jabuya has only one response, “My team is ready to play anyone including the Power Dynamos that had no respect for league champions.”
