Kenya; The parents of Form One students joining Maseno School will have to part with approximately Sh120,000 as school fees and other requirements before they can be admitted.
According to the school's fees structure approved by the Board of Management and Parents Teachers Association, parents are expected to pay Sh88,523 - Sh45,747 will cater for the first term, Sh28,518 for second term and Sh14,259 for the third.
Other additional levies including repairs, maintenance, improvement, electricity, water and conservancy, academic imprest fund for the District Education Officer's office push the cost to Sh120,000.
Meanwhile, Kanga High School has maintained what some parents view as the lowest fees among schools of its calibre.
New entrants are required to pay Sh58,000 annually, which is about Sh35,000 less than what the school with the highest tuition fees charges per student.

School Principal Michael Ogweno said the institution charges reasonable fees that are affordable even for students from disadvantaged families.
"Apart from personal items like clothing and bedding, new students are not required to buy anything else because we provide almost everything they require for smooth learning," said Mr Ogweno, adding that the reasonable fees and quality education offered at the school had attracted parents.
