TANZANIA: Joseph Mathenge has been declared overall winner of 2014 CNN Multichoice Jounalist of the year award.
Mathenge was crowned winner on Saturday night at a colourful ceremony in Tanzania.
Five other Kenyans including Patric Mayoyo bagged trophies in different categories. Evelyn Watta won sports category, Anne Mawathe and Rashid Ibrahim won in the investigative category.
The occasion was graced by President of Tanzania Jakaya Kikwete who praised work of journalists and rooted for media freedom across the continent.
