Kisii; Kenya: Kisii County has announced plans to put Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) at the core of its operations.
Governor James Ongwae identified the creation of an incubation centre as central to his administration’s efforts to make the sector relevant in service delivery.
The centre, to be established in collaboration with the national government and local universities, will tap into the fast-growing mobile application ecosystem especially among the youth. “This initiative will empower the youth,” he said.
Mid this year, ICT Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang’i disclosed plans to link national and county governments through ICT.
