Kakamega, Kenya: Anxiety gripped Kakamega County Assembly on Thursday following power interruptions and a faulty generator, which delayed house business for close to an hour.
The speaker had just entered the house and members were up on their feet when power went off.
The assembly is this week expected to go on recess and therefore has a short time to complete crucial House business, failure to which members will be forced to extend their working days.
Speaker Morris Buluma had to adjourn the session as the generator was repaired and efforts to restore electricity were underway.
The afternoon session, scheduled to start at 2.30pm, began at around 4pm after power went off throughout the entire Western town.
