Maralal, Kenya: Three people have been seriously wounded after bandits attacked a matatu at Muguri in Maralal. Among the injured is an Administration Police Officer who was shot in the left leg and a student.
The officer was headed to Wamba Hospital for orthopedic review for his right leg. The three are undergoing treatment at Wamba mission hospital.
James Maina, the matatu driver, told The Standard that bandit attacks are on the rise in the area.
"We will stop plying this route if the government will not intervene”, Maina threatened.

Other passengers were rescued by Kenya wildlife service officers who were traveling from Wamba towards Maralal.
Samburu County Senior Game Warden Dominic Wambua said that his officer are pursuing the suspects who are believed have escaped towards Lodungokwe in Samburu East.
