Kenyatta University’s (KU) proposed leadership centre will address leadership gaps, challenges and concerns in the entire African continent, a senior official has said.
KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Olive Mugenda yesterday said the Africa Centre for Transformative and Inclusive Leadership (ACTIL), to be hosted by her institution, would help build leadership competencies of emerging and existing leaders in the entire continent.
“The centre will focus on the promotion of gender equality and women’s empowerment in the economic, social and political spheres,” said Mugenda.
Speaking to journalists on the project at a Nairobi hotel, Mugenda thanked UN Women, (the United Nations entity for gender equality and empowerment of women within East and Central African Region) for the partnership that had made the centre, scheduled for official launch on February 19, a reality.
