Nairobi,Kenya: Three people perished Friday along Nairobi-Mombasa road near Daystar in a grisly accident that involved a saloon car and a trailer.
The trailer was heading towards Nairobi while the saloon car was headed for Machakos when the two vehicles were involved in a head on collision.
Two occupants of the personal vehicle died on the spot while the third occupant died in hospital. The driver of the trailer escaped with minor injuries.
According to an eye witness, the speeding saloon car was overtaking another vehicle.

The lorry driver Fuad Jumaan said the distance between him and the saloon car was so close that he could avoid the head on collision.
``The speed at which the saloon car was moving was so high,’’ said Mr Jumaan.
