A Form Two student has died after falling from a tree. Yassin Zani,16, slipped and fell from the mango tree at around 1pm on Saturday at his parents' home in Vyemani area, Likoni.
Zani was on midterm holiday and died a few minutes after the fall. Family members said the boy had just taken lunch and was last seen lying under the mango tree before climbing up to pick the fruits.
He was later found under the tree groaning in pain next to some mangoes, and died shortly after.
According to the area chief, Athman Mwakash, Zani's family had planned to transfer him from a school in Nairobi to the nearby Shika Adabu Secondary school before the tragedy.
