A farmer has offered President Uhuru Kenyatta a rooster that won an award in last week's Mombasa International Agricultural Society of Kenya show.
The 6.4kg chicken belongs to a Mombasa poultry farmer, David Muturi (pictured), who is an employee of the county education department.
"I am delighted that I reared a champion. Uhuru is my champion too and I would be delighted to present him with the bird as a sign of gratitude for his leadership," said Mr Muturi.
He made the offer through Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri, who was the chief guest at the show's opening ceremony.
The CS promised to communicate the offer to Uhuru. "I was told to wait until an opportunity arose to present my gift," he said.

Muturi bought the rooster two-and-a-half years ago as a day-old chick from Eldoret poultry breeder KukuChic. It went on to win a prize last year when it weighed 4.5kg.
