A student has been jailed for eight years after pleading guilty to robbing a cellphone and a sim card worth Sh3,250.
The student allegedly forced his victim to provide the pin number to his M-Pesa account, which he emptied.
John Mwachofi Mwalimo pleaded for leniency despite admitting the crime before Wundanyi acting Principal Magistrate Isaac Ongere.
It was not, independently, confirmed if the convict is a student as alleged after he made the claim when pleading for leniency.
