Nyeri, Kenya - Tea and coffee from Nyeri County will be distributed in the South African Development Community (SADC) market by Botswana.
Speaking after signing an MoU with Botswana officials, Nyeri governor Nderitu Gachagua said they are working on modalities that will see coffee and tea access the expansive market.
"We have signed a memorandum of understanding with a local government in Botswana in which the government will promote produce from Nyeri in the South African market," Gachagua said.
He said the agreement with the council will see Botswana contract a company, Kweneng Ventures Ltd, to deal with some produce from the county.
