At least eight people were Thursday morning killed in an accident involving a matatu and a lorry in Ngarariga area, Limuru.
Police say the accident happened when the two vehicles collided at about 8 am.
Deputy traffic Commandant Samuel Kimaru said four people died on the spot while the rest passed on as they were being treated at the Kijabe Mission Hospital.
He said one of the vehicles was trying to overtake when the accident occurred.

"It is unfortunate people continue to die even with the laws we have in place," said Kimaru.
Three others who were injured are admitted at the Kijabe Mission Hospital.
