Liverpool have fined Luis Suarez after the striker's bite on Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.
Suarez, 26, bit Ivanovic's arm during his team's 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Anfield on Sunday.
"For my unacceptable behaviour the club has fined me," Suarez tweeted.
"I have asked the club to donate the money to the Hillsborough Family Support Group for the inconvenience I have created to the Liverpool fans and to Ivanovic."
The Football Association will review the match official's report into the game before deciding what course of action to take.
Meanwhile, Suarez has been offered anger management therapy by the Professional Footballers' Association.
Its chief executive, Gordon Taylor, said: "There is no doubting his football ability, that's why it is so disappointing and embarrassing when he lets himself down.
"We have to work hard on anger management now. We have trained counsellors in this field and we will be offering their services to Liverpool and the player to try to improve matters."
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers and the club's chief executive Ian Ayre have also condemned Suarez's bite.
Rodgers labelled the Uruguayan's conduct as "unacceptable", while Ayre said his behaviour did not "befit" that of a Liverpool player.
Suarez issued a swift apology following the conclusion of the game and also spoke to Ivanovic.
"I've spoken to Ivanovic on the phone and I could apologise directly to him," Suarez tweeted. "Thanks for accepting."
It is not the first time that the Reds forward has committed such an act. He was banned for seven games after biting PSV Eindhoven midfielder Otman Bakkal during a match in November 2010.
