Kass Media Group chairman Joshua Chepkwony

Ahead of the 10th Kass International Marathon, Kass Media Group chairman Joshua Chepkwony believes the race has created wealth besides setting the stage for nurturing talent, which has gone on to lead the world in athletics.

Chepkwony, accompanied by among others Trans National Bank CEO Sammy Lang’at, was speaking yesterday during the launch of the 42Km race to be staged in Eldoret on November 20.

“From an economic point of view, Kass Marathon has created wealth not just by the earnings the winners get, but the same runners have gone on to the world stage and earned more,” Chepkwony said.

He added: “Our partners have also grown their businesses. Standard Group, through KTN and FeverPitch, have improved their coverage thanks to consistently covering the event.”

Lang’at said as main sponsors, Trans National Bank had filled the gap in line with lender’s strength.

Online registration is on-going in www.kassmarathon.co.ke besides at all Kass FM offices and Trans National Bank offices in Rift Valley. Winners in 42km, both men and women categories, will earn Sh1.5m.
