Ongoing investigations, at container freight stations in Mombasa, by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) have unearthed several containers loaded with contraband goods.
Investigators undertaking the probe at Autoport Container Freight Station, which was ordered closed last month, have discovered a fresh list of cargo containers loaded with imported sugar and ethanol products.
The investigators unearthed a further 20-containers of contraband sugar, imported from Brazil. They also stumbled upon a single 40-foot container suspected to contain 135 drums of a liquid substance made from ethanol.
The cargo has an estimated tax value of Sh11 million.

Speaking, when he confirmed the discovery, KRA Commissioner Customs & Border Control Julius Musyoki said the consignment would be subjected to further assessments.
