Benjamin Kigen on Thursday night defeated 3000m steeplechase Olympic champion Soufiane El Bakkali to win the Diamond League trophy in Zurich, Switzerland.
Kigen clocked 8:17.45 to win the race ahead of the Morrocan who was carrying a knock from the Brussels leg where he didn't finish the race after falling at one of the barriers.
The win saw Kigen avange his Olympic loss to El Bakkali.
The Morrocan clocked 8:08.90 to win the Olympics where Kigen could only finish third and taking the bronze medal.
In the women's 3000m steeplechase, Norah Jeruto led a Kenyan 1-2 finish after winning in a time of 9:07.33.

Hyving Kiyeng came second with a time of 9:08.55 as United States Frerichs came third with 9:08.74.
