Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i yesterday chaired his first meeting in his new position as the coordinator of government development programmes.
The meeting was attended by six Cabinet Secretaries and Members of Parliament from Nyanza. It was supposed to review plans for stalled projects as well as new ones in Nyanza.
The CSs present were Simon Chelugui (water), James Macharia (transport), Joe Mucheru (ICT), Mwangi Kiunjuri (Agriculture), Nelson Gachuihie (CAS finance) and Technical and Vocational Training PS Kevit Desai.
Dr Matiang’i said the meeting followed a directive by president Kenyatta for the review of the projects after he toured the region.
MPs present were James Nyikal, John Mbadi, Gladys Wanga, Samuel Atandi, Ochillo Ayako, Rose Nyamunga, Mark Nyamita and Anthony Oluoch among others.
Matiang’i is deputised by Treasury CS Henry Rotich.
