President Uhuru Kenyatta meets commuters on the Madaraka Express.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday surprised passengers on the Madaraka Express train.

A selfie here, a handshake there...

He took the Standard Gauge Railway from Nairobi to Mombasa terminus and interacted with commuters during the journey.

The President, via his twitter handle, said he was glad that the SGR train services have improved travel for Kenyans between the two cities. 

Even the children had a moment. It's not every day you get a picture with the President.

Earlier today, I took the SGR train from Nairobi to Mombasa, during which I met and interacted with fellow commuters who shared their interesting experiences about the service.
