Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Wednesday responded to a viral video of a Chinese man who racially abused Kenya.

Sonko called for the immediate arrest of the man, asking State authorities to lock him up.

“Who knows where the construction site of this WHITE MONKEY IS? Tumuinue sai na awekwe kwa B*** mpaka cell,” he wrote on his official Facebook page.

In the video believed to have been recorded at a motorcycle dealership, the man refers to Kenyans as poor and foolish, further stating that they look like monkeys.

He also aims the slur at President Uhuru Kenyatta and admits that he is in Kenya only for the money.

The video caused an uproar online as enraged Kenyans asked for the immediate deportation of the man.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino was among leaders who reacted to the post, asking Interior CS Fred Matiang’i and DPP Noordin Haji to move in swiftly.

"This idiot MUST be deported back to China ASAP! Wametuzoea sasa!" he tweeted.

The Immigration Department on Thursday confirmed that the Chinese National, Liu Jiaqi, had been arrested and his work permit had been canceled.

It further stated that Jiaqi will be deported on racism grounds.

Blogger Robert Alai had earlier reported the man’s deportation but the Immigration Department quickly moved to correct him.

“Kindly ignore @RobertAlai tweets in regards to the Chinese National who was captured in the video being abusive.

“Liu Jiaqi is being processed for deportation, and not deported as reported by Alai. That's a lie.”#AskImmigrationKE
