Police in Kinangop, Nyandarua County are holding a man for allegedly stabbing his cousin to death following an argument over a piece of meat.
Witnesses claim the man bought the delicacy from a butchery in Muteini village near Engineer and proceeded to his home ready to have a feast.
Peter Karimi, a neighbour, narrated that upon arriving home, the deceased went to take a shower only to come back and find his cousin cooking part of the meat.
A fight ensued and in the process, the meat owner was stabbed on his lower ribs using a sharp knife. He was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital.
"The victim was stabbed once by his cousin who later fled and entered one of the bars where he started drinking," he said.
A senior police officer, who declined to be named, said the suspect is in custody and would be arraigned in court to face murder charges.
