Equity Bank has once again emerged as Kenya’s top bank at the Think Business Banking Awards 2017, taking home 19 awards out of the 24 entries it had submitted.
Equity shrugged off strong competition to beat other lenders by scooping the first position in 13 other categories.
The lender’s Chief Executive James Mwangi also won the Chief Executive of the Year. Commenting on the awards, Dr Mwangi said the win highlighted the bank’s focus of providing the best and efficient financial services to its customers.
“I am humbled by this recognition, which further validates our strategy and pursuit of financial inclusion while giving our customers freedom, choice and control,” he said.
“We aim to retain this victory in the future and translate this success into a deeper emotional connection with our customers by giving them freedom, choice and control with our product and service offering” Dr Mwangi added.
The bank also emerged second in the Best Bank in Product Marketing, Most Customer Centric Bank and Best Bank in Internet Banking.
