Miguna Miguna is a 54 year old lawyer well known for his controversial views regarding state issues.

He holds Masters in Law from York University, Canada, and is currently seeking an election into Nairobi’s gubernatorial seat as an independent candidate.

Political Career:

Miguna Miguna was previously known in the political scene as an activist during the Moi regime, facing detentions under the Moi governance.

In 2007, he contested for a parliamentary seat in Nyando Constituency but lost at the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party nominations to Fredrick Outa.

He then rallied support behind Raila Odinga in the 2007 election that later won him a position as Raila Odinga’s senior adviser in 2009.

He however broke off from ODM announcing his bid to seek an election into Nairobi Gubernatorial seat in 2013, but cancelled his candidacy.

He has since then been a sharp critic of national agendas and on matters surrounding politics.
