Like a besotted lover, Madrid based legendary spin master Deejay Paco Perez, 67, appears bewitched by his music, humming it gingerly.

He occasionally purses his lips, bobs his head and stares into space. The passion is palpable. He lets his hands speak on his behalf as he mixes one music into another with amazing synchronisation.

Paco was the hottest DJ around town in the 70’s and 80’s at clubs Somberero and Boomerang where he was popular for his mixes, ranging from Soul, House and Rhythm and Blues.

Today, some 16 years after he relocated back to his country, the celebrated veteran DJ is back in Kenya.  Paco, who revolutionised Kenya’s DJ arena from the late 70’s through to the 90’s, arrived in the country on Wednesday night.

He will stage an exclusive show dubbed The Return of Boomerang at Ebony Lounge (former Bubbles), in Nairobi’s Westlands’, tonite to relive the days when music had soul and clubs boomed on Saturday night.

Paco says he is delighted to be back in a country he refers to as his second home. He said he will use the opportunity to take revelers down memory lane with music from the 80’s and early 90’s using a Vinyl player.

“This is one event you cannot afford to miss. I am pleased to invite all Kenyans to a great celebration that will keep them dancing all night long,” he said.

Local deejays Addams, Roy, Georges and Hussein Abdalla whom he mentored will grace the occasion.
