The fate of more than 500, 000 refugees is not known now that the government has decided to close down refugee camps. This is due to national security and financial constraints.

Indeed providing for all these people is strenuous and very costly. This affects the country's economy greatly.

The national security is at risk with all these refugees. Amongst them are those who are not genuine and their motives are not known posing a threat to the country.

The government should close down the camps only after these people have been settled and others returned to their homelands.

The camps maybe used as hideouts for criminals and terrorists especially now that the next election is around the corner.

The government should therefore ensure that all camps are closed as soon as possible.
