East African Breweries Limited (EABL) has signed a partnership with Sauti Sol music band that will see the group promote one of the brewer’s low-cost alcoholic drinks. The deal will see the afro-pop singers market Chrome Vodka at EABL-sponsored performances in Kisumu, Eldoret, Nakuru, Machakos and Mombasa this year.

EABL Kenya Marketing Manager Anne Joy Muhoro said the deal would help drive its market campaign to increase the brand’s uptake. “Sauti Sol is Kenya’s pride in the music industry; young men who have a vision that they are successfully bringing to life. They have managed to build a strong brand in both local and international markets,” said Sauti Sol Entertainment Managing Director, Marek Fuchs.

The group comprises Bien-Aime Baraza, Willis Austin Chimano, Polycarp Otieno and Savara Mudigi. The band has won Best Group in East Africa (2016 Bingwa Awards), Best African Group at African Muzik Magazine Awards (2015 AFRIMMA) and MTV EMA Award for Best African Act in 2014.
