HOMA BAY: Orange Democratic Movement Secretary General Ababu Namwamba has apologised over the party’s disputed nominations for Homa Bay senatorial by-election but pleaded with voters to back the party’s candidate Moses Kajwang’.
While acknowledging that the direct ticket handed to Kajwang’ fell short of democratic expectations, Namwamba said a win for the party was critical coming before the Kajiado Central parliamentary by-election.
“We apologise but promise to correct the wrong in the subsequent exercises, which will be free and fair. We did the Kajiado Central nominations in a free and fair manner and that’s the way we shall go,” he said.
“Let us forget our differences and vote for our candidate. For those who defected from ODM, you are not our enemies, come back home after Thursday,” added the ODM Secretary General.
