Earlier today, after a recording emerged of Hon. Alfred Keter appearing to threaten officers at Gilgil weighbridge, the Director of Public Prosecutions recommended that the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and the police take immediate action against him.

The Presidency fully supports appropriate legal action. The law will take its course.

In appearing to intimidate the public officers, Mr Keter makes a number of claims about other public and state officers at State House Nairobi. These claims are untrue and amount to nothing more than namedropping.

Leaders are reminded that the constitution requires them to serve anddemonstrate respect for the people; and to bring honour to the nation, and dignity to their offices.

The Presidency commends the public officers who resisted the apparent intimidation.
