Naivasha, Kenya: Security has been intensified around key installations and hotels in Naivasha following recent terror attacks at the Coast and in Nairobi.

Armed officers are currently manning the Kengen plant and hotels at the lakeside town, as the Government steps up security around the country.

According to Naivasha Sub County Commissioner Mohammed Abass, they had also increased patrols in the town and major highways.

He assured locals and tourists that the town was safe and called on residents to report any suspicious people to the police.

“We have more security officers and patrol cars in the area and we are calling on the public to help us stem the criminal tide,” he said.

Speaking at the weekend during celebrations to mark the retirement of Bishop Peter Kimemia of KAG Church, Bishop Joseph Wambugu of Bread of New Life Church said there was need to intensify security in places of wor across the country.
