NAIROBI, KENYA: The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced the recruitment of 10,000 additional public primary and secondary school teachers.
TSC on Tuesday stated that it will recruit 5,122 primary schools teachers and another 4,878 for secondary school.
Another 1,139 teachers will be recruited to replace teachers who have left service through natural attrition with 470 posts in primary school teachers and 669 posts for post primary schools.
The Commission set August 16 as the deadline for the applications in a statement signed by TSC boss Gabriel Lengoiboni.
Candidates for posts in primary schools have been asked to submit their applications together with photocopies of their academic and professional certificates to Staffing Officers in Sub-Counties of their choice where vacancies exist.
“In the case of post primary institutions, interested candidates should apply to the Secretary, Board of Governors of the Institution where the vacancy has been advertised not later than 16th August, 2013 and submit a copy to the TSC County Director,” the advertisement stated.
TSC also warned applicants against fraudsters who might extort money from them purporting they will help with recruitment saying the exercise is free.
