Months after President Kibaki commuted death sentences of thousands of prisoners to life imprisonment, there is no debate on the merit of the death penalty.
Many countries have done away with capital punishment since it has no rehabilitative value. Kenya should follow suit.
MPs should amend the Penal Code to save the country from relying on presidential clemency.
