Football Kenya has suspended Dagoretti Santos coach Nixon Onywanda for three months for alleged misconduct.
Onyawanda is the elder brother of national team Harambee Stars and French Ligue 1 side AJ Auxerre striker, Denis Oliech, who had a spat with the FKL last week over his defence of four Mathare United players locked out of the national team for World Cup qualifying match against Tunisia on March 28.
Four other players from the club have also been suspended for a similar duration.
In a letter addressed to the club, Football Kenya Secretary General Sammy Obingo accused the suspended coach and players of being involved in a scuffle that led to the abandonment of their two matches last month.
The incidences were involving matches against Bidco United and Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
Stiffer penalties
Obingo warned that Onywanda must not be engaged by any club in the country during the period of his suspension.
The suspended players are, Salim Odhiambo, Samuel Ndungu, Nelson Njoroge and Robert Warii.
The association has reprimanded two players from Santos, Juma Ogutu and Bernard Miriti.
Obingo warned the five any other involvement in a similar incident in future will be met with stiffer penalties.
He also threatened that the club which is associated with Oliech risk being kicked out of the Nationwide league should they be involved in a similar incident in future.
Elsewhere, Karura hammered Black Mamba 5-2 in an FKL Nationwide division two match at the weekend.
Black Mamba and Pwani Oil fought to a 2-2 tie in another match also at the weekend.
