President William Ruto joined Kenyan Arsenal supporters in celebrating the club’s Premier League title victory after a 22-year wait.
In a candid post on his X platform, Ruto praised the club’s journey from difficult periods to eventual triumph, noting that it has been quite an experience to follow the epic adventure from times of struggle to a glorious path to the summit.
“Tonight, the great reward is won,” Ruto wrote. “The team is victorious. Its faith and dedication is vindicated. And our commitment to succeed through work, discipline and teamwork is affirmed. Congratulations to the Gunners.”
The celebratory mood quickly spread across Kenya as thousands of Arsenal supporters flooded social media and streets in jubilation.
Several Kenyan celebrities joined the celebrations by posting photos in Arsenal jerseys, while others shared clips soundtracked with Bien and Alikiba’s hit song "Finale", which quickly became one of the unofficial anthems of the night.
Supporters also revived old football memories online, with many sharing photos of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga holding an Arsenal jersey branded “Agwambo 10” as they linked the veteran politician to the club’s long-awaited glory.
Across Nairobi and other towns, fans erupted into celebrations, with screams, dances and chants echoing through the night.
Videos circulating online showed supporters hanging out of moving cars, waving giant Arsenal flags and blowing whistles as motorists hooted in celebration.

One viral clip captured fans chanting that Arsenal is higher than the price of petrol and the enemy is Manchester United, as crowds danced behind them in red jerseys.
Meanwhile, in North London, Arsenal supporters turned the city red as thousands partied into the early hours of Wednesday morning to celebrate the club’s first Premier League title in 22 years.
Fireworks lit up the skies outside the Emirates Stadium while emotional supporters sang club anthems and embraced one another outside pubs and fan zones.
Hundreds of Gunners supporters gathered at the famous Tollington pub to watch Manchester City draw with Bournemouth, the result that officially confirmed Arsenal as champions.
The final whistle triggered celebrations across London, with footage shared online showing fireworks outside Arsenal’s stadium shortly before midnight.
