Tanzanian boxer Karim Madonga ‘Mtu Kazi’ has challenged Kenyan boxer Portifas Odipo, popularly known as ‘Majembe’, to a bout.
In a video posted on his Instagram page, Madonga said he was ready to fight Majembe, taunting him for striking Mbavu Destroyer below the belt.
“Wewe Majembe umekutana na mtu mdhaifu ukampiga chini ya mkanda ukasema umeshinda. Mimi Madonga ‘Mtu Kazi’ ni challenge naitisha. Nakuja Kenya kwa ajili yako Majembe. Lazima nikupige,” he said while in a gym.
Majembe responded to the challenge, saying he was ready to face the Tanzanian boxer.
“Umeguza pabaya. Naheshimu wazee lakini wazee kama wewe nawapenda. Nitakupiga!” the 21-year-old said. Flaunting the official championship belt, he added, “Kata weight alafu ukuje.”
Fans on social media shared mixed reactions to the brewing clash, with Kenyans and Tanzanians divided over their preferred boxer.
On Instagram, SeanMmg wrote, “Majembe kuja malizia huyu eeh!” while another user, Jose, argued, “Hii ni vita ya baba na mtoto. Madonga mwalimu wao.”
The challenge comes after Majembe secured a decisive victory, landing a thunderous blow beneath opponent Ferdinand Omondi, popularly known as Mbavu Destroyer, sending him crashing to the canvas.
Majembe claimed the Vurugu Championship and a haul of prizes, including Sh1,000,000 in cash, a Toyota Noah from betting company Odi Bets, a Taro GP1 sport bike worth Sh385,000, and a free one-year gym membership
