Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged Kenyans to remain united as he marked his 65th birthday on Monday, October 26, 2026, drawing messages from political leaders and members of the public.

Speaking during a live phone interview with Milele FM, Kenyatta called for national cohesion, saying the country could only move forward if citizens worked together.

“Wananchi wasigawanywe, wakae wakiwa kitu kimoja... Nchi ni yetu na tutaisongesha mbele pamoja,” he said, urging Kenyans not to allow divisions to undermine the country's progress.

The Office of the Fourth President also marked the occasion with a message celebrating Kenyatta's years in public service and his continued involvement in regional affairs.

“We celebrate your life, your years of service to our nation, and the enduring contribution you continue to make to Kenya and the African continent,” the office said in a social media post accompanied by portraits of the former president.

Jubilee Party leader Fred Matiang'i also sent his birthday wishes, praising Kenyatta's commitment to democratic principles and peaceful governance.

“May God grant you continued good health, happiness, and many more fulfilling years,” Matiang'i wrote, as the former president continues to provide guidance to the party during its reorganisation.

Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina called on Kenyans to join in celebrating the former head of state.

“Help me wish the 4th president of the Republic of Kenya a happy birthday! May the good Lord bless & keep you,” she wrote on Facebook.

Members of the public also shared birthday messages on social media, with the hashtag #UKat65 gaining traction as Kenyatta's supporters used the occasion to reflect on his time in office.

Kenyatta served as Kenya's fourth president from 2013 to 2022, when he handed over power to President William Ruto following the August 2022 General Election.

Since leaving office, he has remained involved in African diplomacy and peace efforts, including mediation initiatives aimed at addressing conflicts in the region.
