Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has expressed gratitude after a private meeting with Pastor Dorcas Rigathi at the Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri County.
The outspoken first-term lawmaker shared photos from the meeting, showing moments of prayer and reflection during the visit hosted by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Pastor Dorcas.
In a post on social media, Salasya described the encounter as spiritually uplifting, saying it left him renewed.
"There is divine authority released when God's anointed servants lay hands and pray in the name of Jesus," he wrote. "Every time I surrender myself before the men and women God has appointed, my heart is refreshed, my spirit is strengthened, and I experience His peace that surpasses all understanding."
He also thanked Pastor Dorcas for praying for him and wished her well in her ministry.
"My heartfelt gratitude to Pastor Dorcas Rigathi for your sincere prayers and fatherly care in the faith. Truly, the Lord has anointed you for such a time as this. May the oil upon your life never run dry," he wrote.
His reference to "fatherly care" appeared to be an apparent wording error in the post.
But beyond its spiritual message, the meeting has attracted political attention.
It comes as Gachagua continues to host political leaders at his Wamunyoro home while consolidating support for the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) ahead of the next General Election.
Salasya's visit is particularly notable given his past criticism of Gachagua, raising fresh speculation about a possible political rapprochement.
Neither Salasya nor Gachagua has publicly indicated whether the meeting signals a political alliance.
However, Salasya maintains that he is leaving the encounter with renewed purpose, humility and spiritual encouragement.
