Tension and chaos marked a political rally organised by nominated senator Karen Nyamu in Kabete after it was disrupted by suspected goons, forcing a dramatic exit that quickly went viral online.
Footage circulating online after the event showed Nyamu’s car speeding away from a rally at Kabete Polytechnic following the disruption.
In the video seen by TNX Africa, Nyamu fled the grounds in a black car, with two men dangerously clinging to the sides of the moving vehicle.
The incident drew shouts and screams from the crowd, with some urging the nominated senator to continue.
“Acha apite nao!” a woman was heard yelling.
"Mimi sitishwi na matakataka na machokoraa. ambia mwenye amewatuma atume wanaume"

Moments later, the car stopped as the crowd gathered, claiming one of the individuals had been run over.
“Ameua!” a woman said, while another added, “Hajakufa.”
According to social media reports, the individual was allegedly attempting to smash Nyamu’s car windshield as others attacked from the sides. He was reportedly rushed to hospital after suffering injuries from the incident.
Earlier, a separate video had shown Nyamu addressing the rally when a group of men became rowdy. Security personnel blocked them from accessing the stage as she continued speaking.
Alleging that the disruption was orchestrated, she said, “Yule amewatuma mumwambie mmepata mwanamke wazimu, hatishwi. Kwendeni muwaambie wapange mkutano yao, waache kutishwa na kazi yangu. Mnatutumia watoto, tafuteni wanaume.”
The incident later triggered mixed reactions from Kenyans on social media.
On X, Ngallah Fred wrote, “Politicians with their imaginary HATERS.” Another user, Mutisya, added, “Honestly who can hire goons for this lady? I don’t entertain violence but I think they just don’t like her.”
