Prior to the church wedding, the couple held their traditional dowry and marriage ceremony, locally known as Ngasya or Ruracio, in Muvingu, Kitui Central. Dr. Isaac Kalua, the Chief Steward of the Green Africa Group, celebrated the union alongside close family and friends.
The Ngasya ceremony, a key step in the Akamba traditional marriage process, symbolised the formal introduction and union of the two families ahead of the couple’s church wedding.
The ceremony attracted a high-profile delegation from the national government, including Principal Secretary for the National Treasury Dr. Chris Kiptoo, Principal Secretary for Immigration and Citizen Services Dr. Belio Kipsang, and Principal Secretary for Livestock Development Hon. Jonathan Mueke.
The bride, Michelle Kalua, wore an elegant off-shoulder cream-white gown, while the groom donned a cream-white coat paired with black trousers. The venue featured rich green accents complemented by crisp white décor, creating a fresh, natural, and timeless garden-inspired aesthetic that perfectly matched the couple's style.
First Lady Rachael Ruto wished Michelle and Michael well on their wedding day in Nairobi. She shared a heartfelt message on her official X account, stating: “May your marriage be filled with love, joy, friendship, and God's abundant blessings as you begin this new chapter together. Commit to the lord in whatever you do and he will stablish your plans proverbs 16;3”.
