Elkins, popularly known in digital streets as “Your Marketing Guy”, recently revealed that he has turned down several big-money offers from sitting MPs and well-known politicians who wanted him to join their PR machines.
The requests, he says, were to help shape public opinion ahead of upcoming political moves.
Elkins, however, said he is done with politics for good.
“I’ve been there before. I once worked with small-time politicians, and it was one of the worst experiences of my career,” he said. “They promise you everything, but most of the time, they don’t live to the expectations.”
The marketing guru says his focus now is on helping businesses grow.
“Right now, all I want is to help businesses attract real clients, create impact in the community, and grow. That’s where my peace of mind is,” Elkins added. “Even if the money looks small to others, it’s honest, and I sleep well at night.”
He argued that most people get into political gigs blindly since the money may look sweet but he cautions that it comes with lots of baggage.
"If you’re not careful, it can destroy you. I’d rather earn honest income from helping real businesses, than live in fear just because I took a political gig,” he says.
