Members of the creative and music industry joined hands in a kind gesture as they offered support to the family of Sol generation's Benson Mutua Muia, popularly known as Bensoul as he laid to rest his mother to rest in Embu.
Bensoul, had earlier shared the tragic news while fondly remembering his mother and the family's matriarch, Susan Nzembi Muia 63, who had played an influential role in his career.
The famed musician took to his social media on Thursday, eulogising his mother with the caption, 'Rest well my first love. I love you mum', he wrote, attracting hundreds of condoling messages from his followers. Draped in black outfits, musicians, content creators and digital influencers all drove in a convoy as they joined Bensoul's close family and friends to pay their last tributes and remarkable life to Mama Soul.
The celebrities almost brought Mbeere town in Embu county to a standstill as they drew attention from curious onlookers along the way. They included members of Sauti Sol, H_art the band, The Luhya Heat, Sol generation management, amongst others expressed their deepest sympathies as they shared moments with Bensol and members of his family who included his only elder sister Dubai.
Speaking on behalf of the personalities, H_art the band member Kenchez Muya celebrated Bensoul's mother, crediting her with having given them their blessings as they embarked on their musical journey.
"She gave us her blessings and told us to go out there and leave an influential mark. Today we don't mourn as we lay her to rest but celebrate the profound life she shared with us."
As the ceremony came to a close in the afternoon hours, massive showers were experienced just as they lay her in her final resting place in their farm which led many to believe that it was a message from above. "Mama is watching over us. She's happy we spent the last day on earth with her," they murmured. They later made their way to the family-owned Dubai resort where more light moments about her influence were shared before driving back to the city.
