The Social Health Authority (SHA) has disbursed Sh1.36 billion since its rollout, acting Chief Executive Officer Ingasira Robert has said.
In a statement on Friday, November 6, Ingasira noted the payments represent 52 per cent of the total claims submitted for October.
"In October, 217,700 claims were submitted by 2,382 hospitals, amounting to Sh2.6 billion," said Ingasira.
He noted that 53,554 claims have been paid, benefiting 1,195 hospitals.
The remaining 164,146 claims, valued at Sh1.2 billion, are undergoing verification to confirm their validity and services rendered.
"Additionally, 1,187 healthcare facilities are being verified," he added.

Ingasira explained that all outstanding payments will be finalised, including November claims, by the end of next week.
