Kenyan comedian and content creator Kennedy Odhiambo, popularly known as Crazy Kennar, had a memorable exchange with Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame during a press conference at the Kigali Convention Centre.
The 27-year-old content creator was given a surprise opportunity to take a photo with Kagame after making a light-hearted request.
Kennar said his father often told him that creating content could open many doors. He jokingly asked for a picture with the Rwandan leader as proof.
“I just request a selfie to go and show him that I met the President of Rwanda,” Kennar told Kagame.
Kagame laughed at the request and replied, “I’ll give you two.”

The exchange continued when Kennar introduced himself and explained that his comedy is inspired by everyday life.
Kagame responded playfully, saying, “I’m as crazy as you,” drawing laughter from those present.
Kennar also spoke about his visit to Rwanda and what he had learned from local audiences. He said some Rwandans viewed him as a father figure because of the characters and stories he creates online.
He added that watching Kagame handle an issue during the event helped him understand why some people see the president similarly.
Kennar began creating content while studying actuarial science at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. The course involves using mathematics and statistics to assess financial risk.
The father of one has since built a large online following, with more than 6.56 million followers across social media platforms.
His recent videos have focused on shared African experiences, using humour to explore differences in culture, money, travel, nightlife and everyday struggles across the continent.
One of his popular skits compares currencies in different African countries.
Using exaggerated reactions, the video explores inflation, exchange rates and changes in the value of money.
Other videos touch on clubbing, blackouts, immigration officers and governments looking for funds.
Kennar's comedy draws on familiar situations, which he turns into humorous and exaggerated stories for his audience.
