Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has continued receiving visitors at his Wamunyoro residence, with a newly married couple becoming the latest guests to stop by after their wedding ceremony.

Charles Nguni Muriuki and his bride, Agnes Nduta Nguni, visited Gachagua's home shortly after exchanging vows, making the residence one of the stops during their wedding celebrations.

Photos shared by Gachagua on Facebook showed the couple posing at the now-famous entrance to the property, marked by a prominent Wamunyoro sign.

The bride wore a flowing white gown and carried a bouquet, while the groom donned a white kitenge outfit paired with red trousers. Family members and guests looked on as the newlyweds posed for photos.

Other images showed Gachagua and his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, joining the couple for commemorative photographs before hosting them inside the residence.

Commenting on the visit, Gachagua said Wamunyoro has evolved beyond a venue for political meetings into a gathering place for people from different walks of life.

"Wamunyoro, a little-known village, has become a beehive of activities, not only as a political knob but also as a social hub!" he wrote.

According to Gachagua, their discussion centred on the importance of strong families in building stable societies and nations.

"We discussed the family as a strong building block for great nations and societies. We encouraged the couple to remain strong as a family, as this begets a strong nation," he said.

He also urged leaders to uphold family values and lead by example.

"Leaders must lead by example by respecting the family unit and upholding family values. May Almighty God bless our families and protect them," he added.

Gachagua's Wamunyoro residence, located in Mathira Constituency, Nyeri County, has become closely associated with his political activities since his impeachment in October 2024.

After leaving the official deputy president's residence in Karen, he returned to his rural home, where he now hosts political meetings and other engagements.

In a recent joint interview on The Alpha House and Iko Nini podcast, Gachagua revealed that the property, officially known as Karandi Farm, is valued at about Sh45 million ($348,000).
