Rapper Megan Thee Stallion has confirmed the end of her relationship with NBA star Klay Thompson after less than a year of dating, citing trust, fidelity and respect concerns.
The split comes months after the pair went public with their romance and follows Megan’s allegations of cheating and emotional inconsistency.
In a firm statement, Megan said the decision reflected her personal boundaries.
“I’ve decided to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward,” she said. She added that she is stepping away from the relationship with “peace and clarity.”
In earlier Instagram posts, Megan offered a more emotional account of the breakup, accusing Thompson of infidelity.
“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet.’” she wrote. She also expressed frustration over his behaviour during the basketball season, saying, “Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me… now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’???”
The couple had only recently gone public with their relationship, confirming it in July 2025 at the Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York City, an event tied to Megan’s philanthropic work in honour of her late parents.
At the time, she described Thompson as “the nicest person I’ve ever met in my life,” while he called her “a special person” who inspires millions.
Their relationship later drew attention online after they shared Instagram posts from a tropical getaway, with fans celebrating the pairing of music and sports stardom.
However, tensions were reportedly developing behind the scenes.
Before Thompson, Megan was linked to basketball player Torrey Craig in 2024 and previously dated rapper Pardison Fontaine from 2021 to 2023.
Thompson has previously been linked to actresses Laura Harrier and Coco Jones.
He has not publicly responded to the allegations.
