Sophia Momodu has filed a Sh 93.4 million (1 billion Naira) lawsuit against singer Davido over alleged harassment, cyberbullying and defamation.
Her lawyer, Ebelechukwu Egeonu Enedah, lodged the suit amid the pair’s ongoing and widely publicised child custody battle over their 10-year-old daughter, Imade.
According to court documents seen by TNX Africa as well as corresponding media reports, Momodu’s legal team alleges that Davido verbally abused her in court, hurled insults and created what they describe as a hostile environment during proceedings.
The suit further claims that after the court incident, Davido and his associates allowed or shared defamatory posts about Momodu on X and Instagram.
Enedah argues that the posts included her photo, contained false accusations and encouraged public ridicule, damaging her reputation and causing serious emotional distress.

Momodu’s team says the online posts exposed her to threats and harassment, prompting her to seek legal protection and monetary damages.
In the filing, she is seeking several remedies. These include a public apology from Davido and a full retraction of all alleged defamatory statements made or sponsored on social media. She is also asking the court to order him to cease any further commentary or attacks against her, including through proxy or coordinated accounts.
Additionally, she is seeking Sh 93.4 million (1 billion Naira) in damages for emotional distress, reputational harm, loss of dignity and fear for her safety arising from the alleged online abuse.
The civil defamation and harassment suit comes against the backdrop of the contested custody battle, which has already involved separate lawsuits, cross accusations and viral exchanges on social media. Davido has since claimed he has withdrawn from the custody case.
