A popular county executive’s who attempted to squander cash for journalists’ ‘brown envelopes’ was in shock when the angry scribes turned tables on him.
According to our snitches, the executive had requested journalists to stay behind as he was supposed to ensure they each received ‘something small’ from Sh300,000 after a recent national function.
But the journalists smelt a rat when he started avoiding them hoping, perhaps, that they would give up. They cornered him insisting on ‘cash money’ instead of a proposed after-party. It is when he refused to part with the money that they decided to order the most expensive drinks on the shelves, leaving the big man Sh140,000 short.
The man, who man had previously bragged to journos that he is only executive who has ever been poached from one county to another, almost fainted when he saw the bill!
