Media personality Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o has been declared the winner of the Lang'ata Parliamentary seat. Jalang'o garnered 38, 948 votes, beating the incumbent MP Nixon Korir, who polled 36,836 votes.

In a Facebook post on August 10, Korir said he conceded defeat in favour of Jalang'o and congratulated him for leading the polls, saying "chuki si siasa".

"From the results that we've tallied at the Generali centre, my competitor Jalango has a lead and I want to congratulate him as he prepares to take the mantle and move Lang'ata forward, "he wrote on Facebook.

Since announcing his move to politics, Jalang'o had maintained optimism about winning the polls and promised major changes in the constituency.

"I am going to be the next MP of Langata. Youths change your votes. Come and vote for us to build a new Langata. I am campaigning for myself. I am very serious, I am the next MP of Langata. Mark this day. I don't go for things I can't get. And once I have I said it.... start getting used to your future MP," he said.

Responding to naysayers who doubted his abilities, Jalang'o had affirmed that his dream of becoming an MP shall come to pass just like all his other childhood dreams.

The comedian further urged his fans to keep working on their dreams, no matter how big they seemed.

"Btw there is no running away from this....up to the ballot box! All dreams are valid! God got us on this!! Started from the bottom now we are here and we are not stopping! See you at the finish line! The streets that we walked on hungry with no hopes are the streets that have our billboards!! Even this will come to pass!!" he said.
